Team Korea earned the qualification slot in Wheelchair Basketball to the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games at the 2019 IWBF AOZ Championship in Pattaya, Thailand. Team Korea earned 67-41 over Thailand in the quarter-final match. A total of 14 countries, including Australia, Iran, Japan, Thailand, Afghnistan, China, Chinese Taipei, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Malayisa, Philippines, Saudi Arabia and Korea participated in this championship. Among these countries, Australia, Iran and Korea secured their places in the men's wheelchair basketball tournament at Tokyo 2020. Korea wheelchiar basketball team will be returning to the Paralympic Game after 20 years, 2000 Sydney Paralympic Games.
