KPC
Gets Ready for the #WeThe15 Campaign
KPC introduces the #WeThe15 campaign; the
biggest human rights movement to end discrimination towards persons with
disabilities, and is on the run for this year’s event by recruiting participating
organizations. The number "15" in #WeThe15 represents the 15% of the world
population, which accounts for 1.2 billion people, who are people with
disabilities. The campaign aims to advocate for the full social inclusion and
equal participation of individuals with disabilities as equal members of
society. Starting in Korea in 2022, and every year, participating organizations
illuminate their buildings or landmarks with the campaign's symbolic color,
purple, on Day of Persons with Disabilities (20 April, Korea). In 2023, a total
of 26 organizations, including LOTTE WORLD TOWER, Busan Gwangandaegyo Bridge,
and Jeonnam Sinan Purple Island, glowed with purple.
